©1987, Ruler Fish. 2.5 x 5 x 1 inches. Wooden ruler, brass, fabricated. This is the first fish I made. I don't remember where the idea came from anymore. Maybe those kid's pull toys. There are little links across the top and bottom of the fishes body to hold the sections together. This page shows a detail of the links on another fish. The face is roughly carved, the coloring on the fins is from soldering. If you want to leave this kind of coloring, it's essential to soak the parts a long time in very hot water. You must remove all the flux glass or it will effloresce over time. It's not attractive - a white powder - and it's probably not good to get it on your skin. SOLD.
